Why Vote on December 1st.
You know the importance of voting in the runoff election for Mayor of Roswell on December 1st. If you didn’t, you wouldn’t be reading this letter. This letter is addressed to your friends and neighbors who don’t think it is important to vote.
To your neighbors who say that they only vote in national elections because local elections are not important, ask them who they expect to respond in an emergency. In New York on 9-11 and in New Orleans when Katrina hit, it was up to local government to respond. The federal government and the state government are not set up to be first responders and it took them days to provide assistance. Ask them who they think has more impact on the value of their home, their quality of life, and the safety of their family: the federal government, the state government, or local government.
To your neighbors who say it does not matter who the Mayor is, ask them if they think the government is any better than the elected official in charge.
To your neighbors who say one vote doesn’t make any difference, remind them that on November 3rd Councilmember Igleheart won by only 13 of 9,500 votes.
Forward this email to your friends and neighbors and tell them that it is important to you and to them to vote on December 1st.
It’s all good.
