Strong or Weak Mayor? Your Choice.
Roswell is a great City, but the coming four years will be challenging. Roswell needs a strong and proven leader, not a weak Mayor. On December 1st you will have the opportunity to choose who that will be.
My opponent shares my vision of keeping Roswell a family-friendly city and maintaining its small town character. He supports my plans to reduce traffic, improve mobility, attract business, encourage redevelopment, become more business friendly, keep property taxes low, and make Roswell as safe as possible.
The only thing that we disagree on is: What is the job of the Mayor?
I believe the Mayor’s job requires me to take a stand on the issues. My opponent does not take a stand until after everyone has spoken.
I have set forth my plans for the next four years. My opponent is waiting on others to develop plans for him.
I work 35 hours a week in my job as Mayor. My opponent believes that the Mayor’s job is part-time and will not interfere with his full-time job in Dunwoody.
I represent all of the citizens of Roswell, and my support comes from all over town. My opponent’s support comes mostly from his neighborhood.
I have received the endorsement of my former opponents.. My opponent has lost the support of his former allies.
I have built relationships with US Senators, Congressmen, Governors, State Legislators, County Commissioners, and Mayors. My opponent has no contacts outside Roswell despite having served on City Council for ten years.
Under my leadership Roswell has:
-
Cut the property tax rate by 17%;- Reduced the number of City employees per capita by 26%;
- Tripled city park land;
- Lowered the FBI index crime rate by 30%;
- Earned an AAA Bond rating;
- Become the first bicycle friendly city in Georgia;
In 2007, Roswell was recognized in the top three best places in America to raise a family.
It is not the time to gamble on change.
Roswell’s government is running well.
It is not the time to break it.
Vote to Re-Elect Jere Wood Mayor of Roswell on December 1st.
