Thank You For Voting
Thank you for voting Tuesday in the Roswell election. Democracy only works if citizens are involved, and the more involved, the better a democracy works. More people voted in this election, 10,516, then ever before in a Roswell race. The turnout was over 20 percent of registered voters, and in one precinct exceeded 33 percent. In the past the turnout has averaged only 14 percent. Click here to see the vote by precinct.
To win the Roswell election, you need 50 percent plus 1, so there will be a runoff on December 1st. Vote at the same place you voted in the general election. You can vote in the runoff even if you did not vote in the general election.
Congratulations to all the candidates who ran. It is apparent that they all want to make Roswell a better place to live, and good points were raised by everyone.
Congratulations to Councilman Jerry Orlans, Councilman Kent Igleheart, Dr. Betty Price, and Nancy Diamond. I hope to have the opportunity to serve with all of them.
